No, California does not have beneficiary deeds, also known as transfer on death (TOD) deeds. Many states do, but California is a laggard.
For a couple of years in a row, the California Law Revision Commission has introduced legislation that would authorize them in California but, sadly, the Trusts & Estates Section of the State Bar of California, in a transparently self-servicing move, has consistently opposed the legislation, preferring that the elderly hire expensive trusts & estates attorneys to do their estate planning.
